General – Holm Collective
-
Holm Collective is a collaborative health and wellness practice built around the belief that lasting wellbeing requires more than treating symptoms—it requires understanding the whole person.
What makes us different is our integrative approach. Rather than working in isolation, our practitioners collaborate to support your physical, emotional, and lifestyle needs. By combining services such as manual osteopathy, holistic nutrition, nursing support, and wellness therapies, we help clients address the root contributors to their health concerns while building long-term resilience.
Our focus is creating a supportive space where people feel seen, heard, and empowered with the tools and resources they need to thrive.
-
Holm Collective is located in Lacombe, Central Alberta and serves individuals and families seeking a whole-person approach to health and wellness.
We offer both in-person and virtual services. Virtual appointments are available for select services, including holistic nutrition consultations and community nursing, allowing clients across Alberta to access support wherever they are.
-
No referral is required to book with any of our practitioners.
You can schedule an appointment directly through our booking system or by contacting our team. If you are unsure which service is the best fit, we are happy to help guide you toward the practitioner or combination of services that best aligns with your goals.
-
Absolutely.
Many clients benefit from working with multiple practitioners as part of their wellness journey. For example, someone may combine osteopathic care to support mobility and nervous system regulation with holistic nutrition to address digestion, energy, or hormone health.
Because our practitioners share a collaborative philosophy, care can be coordinated to ensure your treatment plan is aligned with your goals and evolving needs.
-
Integrative care means looking at health through multiple lenses rather than focusing on a single symptom or body system.
In practice, this means your care team considers factors such as nutrition, movement, stress, sleep, nervous system health, physical function, lifestyle habits, and environmental influences when supporting your wellbeing.
Our practitioners collaborate when appropriate, helping create a more complete picture of your health and ensuring recommendations work together to support your goals. The result is care that is personalized, proactive, and focused on long-term wellness rather than quick fixes.
-
You don't need to have all the answers before booking.
Whether you're dealing with pain, digestive concerns, low energy, stress, hormone-related symptoms, or simply looking to improve your overall wellbeing, we're here to help you find the right starting point.
Our team can discuss your goals and concerns and recommend the practitioner or services that best fit your needs. In many cases, your care may evolve over time as your health goals change.
The most important step is simply reaching out. Together, we'll help you create a path forward that feels supportive, manageable, and aligned with your unique health journey.
Osteopathic Care
-
Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on practice that works to promote your body’s own healing capacity. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, osteopathic practitioners assess how the muscles, joints, fascia, nerves, circulation, and organs may be influencing overall wellbeing.
Treatment uses a variety of manual techniques to improve mobility, reduce tension, support circulation, and encourage the body's natural ability to adapt, heal, and self-regulate. Because every person is unique, treatment plans are individualized based on your health history, goals, and current needs.
-
While both professions use hands-on techniques, their approaches and philosophies differ.
Manual osteopathic care focuses on the body as an interconnected system. Treatment may involve gentle work with muscles, fascia, joints, nerves, circulation, and other body systems to address underlying patterns contributing to discomfort or dysfunction.
Chiropractic care traditionally focuses on the assessment and treatment of the spine and nervous system, often utilizing spinal adjustments as a primary treatment method.
At Holm Collective, osteopathic care is often sought by individuals looking for a whole-body, gentle approach that supports overall health and function.
-
Many extended health benefit plans in Alberta provide coverage for Osteopathic treatment. Coverage varies between providers and plans, so we recommend checking directly with your insurance company to confirm your benefits and reimbursement eligibility.
We are happy to provide receipts that can be submitted for reimbursement when applicable.
-
Yes. Osteopathy can be adapted for individuals of all ages, including infants, children, and pregnant individuals.
Treatment techniques are gentle and tailored to the specific needs of each person. During pregnancy, osteopathic care may help support comfort, mobility, postural changes, and overall wellbeing. For infants and children, treatment is adjusted appropriately for their stage of development.
Your practitioner will always review your health history and determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your situation.
-
Every person responds differently depending on their health history, current concerns, lifestyle factors, and treatment goals.
Some individuals notice changes after their first visit, while others experience more gradual improvements over several treatments. Chronic or long-standing concerns often require a longer course of care than recent injuries or acute discomfort.
During your assessment, your practitioner will discuss recommendations and help create a treatment plan that aligns with your goals.

-
Your first appointment typically includes a detailed health history, discussion of your concerns and goals, and a comprehensive physical assessment.
Based on the assessment, your practitioner will explain their findings and provide a hands-on treatment tailored to your needs. Treatment is generally gentle and comfortable, and you will remain fully informed throughout the process.
You may leave with recommendations related to movement, hydration, recovery, or lifestyle factors that can help support your progress between visits.
Our goal is for you to leave feeling heard, informed, and supported with a clear understanding of your next steps.
Holistic Nursing
-
Holistic nursing combines evidence-informed nursing practice with a whole-person approach to health and healing. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or diagnoses, holistic nursing considers how physical, emotional, mental, social, environmental, and spiritual factors influence overall well-being.
While conventional nursing often focuses on acute care and disease management, holistic nursing creates space to explore the bigger picture—helping clients understand the connections between lifestyle, stress, nervous system health, nutrition, relationships, environment, and their physical symptoms. The goal is not just to manage illness, but to support long-term health, resilience, and quality of life.
-
Every session is personalized to your unique goals and health concerns.
During a holistic nursing appointment, Layna takes time to understand your health story, current challenges, lifestyle, and priorities. Together, you'll explore factors that may be impacting your well-being and develop realistic, sustainable strategies to support your health.
Sessions may include:
Comprehensive health and lifestyle assessments
Education about nervous system health and stress resilience
Nutrition and wellness guidance
Chronic disease prevention and self-management support
Goal setting and health coaching
Review of lab work and health information (when applicable)
Support navigating the healthcare system and advocating for your health
Recommendations for additional resources or collaborative care providers when appropriate
The focus is on partnership, education, and empowering you with practical tools to support your health.
-
No referral is required.
You can book directly with Layna without a physician's referral. Holistic nursing services are designed to complement—not replace—your existing healthcare team and can be accessed proactively whether you're managing a health concern or simply looking to optimize your well-being.
-
Coverage varies depending on your individual benefits plan.
Some extended health insurance providers may offer coverage for nursing services, health coaching, or wellness-related programs, while others may not. We recommend checking directly with your insurance provider to determine your specific coverage.

You do not need to be experiencing a specific illness to benefit from holistic nursing care. Many clients seek support because they want to feel more energized, resilient, and connected to their health.
-
Absolutely! Virtual appointments are available for clients throughout Alberta.
Online sessions offer the same personalized support, education, and collaborative care planning as in-person appointments, allowing you to access holistic nursing services from the comfort of your home.
Whether you're located in Lacombe, a nearby community, or elsewhere, virtual care makes it easy to receive support wherever you are on your wellness journey.
Holistic Nutrition
-
A holistic nutritionist looks beyond calories, meal plans, and individual nutrients to understand how food, lifestyle, stress, sleep, movement, and environmental factors influence overall health.
Using a whole-person approach, holistic nutritionists help clients identify underlying imbalances and develop sustainable strategies to support their health goals. This may include guidance around nutrition, digestion, energy, hormones, sleep, stress management, and healthy lifestyle habits.
At Holm Collective, our goal is not simply to tell you what to eat, but to help you build a healthy relationship with food and create realistic, lasting changes that support your wellbeing.
-
Both holistic nutritionists and registered dietitians support individuals in improving their health through nutrition, but their training and approaches differ.
Registered dietitians are regulated healthcare professionals who are trained in clinical nutrition and medical nutrition therapy. They often work within hospitals, healthcare systems, and specialized clinical settings.
Holistic nutritionists take a broader lifestyle-based approach, considering how nutrition interacts with factors such as stress, sleep, movement, digestion, environmental exposures, and overall wellness. The focus is often on prevention, education, and supporting long-term health habits.
Both professions can play valuable roles in healthcare, and the best choice depends on your individual needs and goals.
-
A holistic nutritionist can help identify dietary and lifestyle patterns that may be contributing to symptoms such as fatigue, mood changes, irregular cycles, PMS, poor sleep, blood sugar fluctuations, or difficulty managing stress.
Through personalized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations, we aim to support the body's natural hormonal balance and overall resilience. While holistic nutrition does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, it can be a valuable part of a comprehensive health plan.
-
Coverage for holistic nutrition services varies between insurance providers and individual benefit plans.
Some extended health plans offer coverage for nutritional counselling or holistic nutrition services, while others do not. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to verify your coverage and reimbursement eligibility.
Receipts are provided for all appointments and can be submitted when applicable.
-
Yes. We offer virtual nutrition consultations for clients throughout Alberta.
Online appointments provide the same personalized support, education, and guidance as in-person sessions, allowing you to access care from the comfort of your home. Virtual consultations are ideal for busy schedules, rural communities, or individuals who prefer the convenience of online care.
-
Digestive concerns are one of the most common reasons people seek nutritional support.
A holistic nutritionist can help explore potential dietary and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to symptoms such as bloating, gas, irregular bowel movements, food sensitivities, digestive discomfort, or IBS-related symptoms.
Together, we'll look at your nutrition habits, stress levels, sleep, hydration, and overall lifestyle to develop a personalized plan that supports digestive health and helps you better understand how your body responds to food.
-
Your first appointment is an opportunity to take a comprehensive look at your health story.
We'll discuss your health history, current concerns, goals, eating habits, digestion, energy levels, sleep, stress, movement, and other lifestyle factors that may be influencing your wellbeing.
From there, we'll work together to identify priorities and create a realistic, individualized plan that fits your life. Rather than providing a restrictive diet, our focus is on practical recommendations and sustainable changes that help you feel your best.
You can expect to leave your appointment with greater clarity, actionable next steps, and support tailored to your unique health goals.
Rede | Pregnancy Circle
-
Rede is not a traditional prenatal class. While we do cover important education around pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, this is a support circle rather than a checklist-based course. The focus is on nervous system support, holistic guidance, shared learning, and meaningful conversation — not memorizing stages or protocols.
-
Partners or primary support people are strongly encouraged to attend, as several sessions include important conversations around roles, support, and shared preparation. That said, we understand scheduling can be complex. If a partner needs to miss a session, we’ll help you feel supported in catching up.
-
Rede is best suited for expectant parents in their second or third trimester. This timing allows space to prepare for birth and postpartum while still benefiting from community and shared reflection.
-
Absolutely. Rede is birth-plan neutral. Our approach emphasizes informed decision-making, flexibility, and trust in your body and care team — whatever path your birth takes.
-
Each week has a guiding theme:
1. Støtte (Support): connection, expectations, and shared care
2. Krop & Ro (Body & Calm): body awareness, movement, emotional wellbeing
3. Bære (To Carry): birth preparation, partner roles, feeding & infant prep, pivoting
4. Lune (Warmth): postpartum planning, rest, and building your nest
Education is always paired with discussion and reflection.
-
Groups are intentionally small — 4–6 couples — to preserve intimacy, trust, and the ability for everyone to be seen and heard.
-
Rede works beautifully alongside existing medical or midwifery care and other prenatal education. Many families join because they’re looking for the emotional, relational, and holistic support that often falls outside traditional care models.
-
Movement offerings are gentle, optional, and adaptable. The focus is on body awareness, comfort, and nervous system regulation — not exercise performance.
-
Each couple receives a guided workbook designed to follow along with each session. It includes prompts for reflection, space for notes, conversation starters for partners, recipes for pregnancy and postpartum, common birth terminology and questions, and practical planning tools you can revisit throughout pregnancy and postpartum.
-
You are very welcome here. Rede was created specifically for parents who want to feel less alone and more supported. If you’re unsure, we invite you to reach out — we’re happy to talk it through with you.
