Nourishment from the inside out
Holistic Nutrition is an integrative approach to health, where health is viewed as the complex interplay between the physical, emotional, as well as environmental aspects of one's life. The focus is on improving and maintaining one's health through the use of whole natural foods, healthy lifestyle habits, and improvements in one's environment. There is an understanding that each individual is unique, and that what may work for one person, may not work for the other. Holistic nutrition is a whole body approach to living a nourished life inside and out.

A holistic nutritionist looks beyond calories, meal plans, and individual nutrients to understand how food, lifestyle, stress, sleep, movement, and environmental factors influence overall health.
Using a whole-person approach, holistic nutritionists help clients identify underlying imbalances and develop sustainable strategies to support their health goals. This may include guidance around nutrition, digestion, energy, hormones, sleep, stress management, and healthy lifestyle habits.
At Holm Collective, our goal is not simply to tell you what to eat, but to help you build a healthy relationship with food and create realistic, lasting changes that support your wellbeing.

Both holistic nutritionists and registered dietitians support individuals in improving their health through nutrition, but their training and approaches differ.
Registered dietitians are regulated healthcare professionals who are trained in clinical nutrition and medical nutrition therapy. They often work within hospitals, healthcare systems, and specialized clinical settings.
Holistic nutritionists take a broader lifestyle-based approach, considering how nutrition interacts with factors such as stress, sleep, movement, digestion, environmental exposures, and overall wellness. The focus is often on prevention, education, and supporting long-term health habits.
Both professions can play valuable roles in healthcare, and the best choice depends on your individual needs and goals.

A holistic nutritionist can help identify dietary and lifestyle patterns that may be contributing to symptoms such as fatigue, mood changes, irregular cycles, PMS, poor sleep, blood sugar fluctuations, or difficulty managing stress.
Through personalized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations, we aim to support the body's natural hormonal balance and overall resilience. While holistic nutrition does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, it can be a valuable part of a comprehensive health plan.

Coverage for holistic nutrition services varies between insurance providers and individual benefit plans.
Some extended health plans offer coverage for nutritional counselling or holistic nutrition services, while others do not. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to verify your coverage and reimbursement eligibility.
Receipts are provided for all appointments and can be submitted when applicable.

Yes. We offer virtual nutrition consultations for clients throughout Alberta.
Online appointments provide the same personalized support, education, and guidance as in-person sessions, allowing you to access care from the comfort of your home. Virtual consultations are ideal for busy schedules, rural communities, or individuals who prefer the convenience of online care.

Digestive concerns are one of the most common reasons people seek nutritional support.
A holistic nutritionist can help explore potential dietary and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to symptoms such as bloating, gas, irregular bowel movements, food sensitivities, digestive discomfort, or IBS-related symptoms.
Together, we'll look at your nutrition habits, stress levels, sleep, hydration, and overall lifestyle to develop a personalized plan that supports digestive health and helps you better understand how your body responds to food.
-
Your first appointment is an opportunity to take a comprehensive look at your health story.
We'll discuss your health history, current concerns, goals, eating habits, digestion, energy levels, sleep, stress, movement, and other lifestyle factors that may be influencing your wellbeing.
From there, we'll work together to identify priorities and create a realistic, individualized plan that fits your life. Rather than providing a restrictive diet, our focus is on practical recommendations and sustainable changes that help you feel your best.
You can expect to leave your appointment with greater clarity, actionable next steps, and support tailored to your unique health goals.
