Newborn Wellness Care In Lacombe, AB
Supportive care with two experienced practitioners designed for new mothers and newborns navigating the early days together.
The Early Days Are Hard. Getting Support Shouldn't Be.
The early days and weeks after birth can be overwhelming, chaotic, and demanding in ways nobody quite prepares you for. But finding care for you and your little one shouldn't add to that weight.
Whether you're navigating feeding difficulties, colic, reflux, body tension, or processing a birth experience that didn't go the way you hoped — you don't have to work through it alone.
United Community Wellness and Energi Wellness have come together to offer something rare: a single, deeply supportive session where both you and your baby receive hands-on, evidence-informed care at the same time — from two experienced practitioners who know the postpartum landscape well.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the most common questions we hear from new mothers — answered honestly and without the overwhelm.

-
Yes, Osteopathic Care is completely safe, especially for newborns. The practice is gentle, subtle and works with their body to promote changes.
-
Osteopathy is a great option for infants who are having a difficult time adjusting to new life and may show signs of:
Colic
Reflux
Constipation or digestive problems
Sleep or settling difficulties
Body tension
Feeding and latch difficulties
Shoulder dystocia
Hip or pelvis problems
Congestion or open mouth breathing
etc.
-
Osteopathy can be offered at any age! As early as a few hours or days old even.
-
Collaborative Care sessions offer the opportunity to take time and space to address all the questions, concerns and pain-points you may be having throughout the postpartum period. Unrushed. No pressure. Genuine care without having to get to several different appointments.
-
Collaborative newborn care sessions involve you, your baby, a Registered Nurse (Layna- UCW) and Osteopathic Manual Therapist (Kensey- Energi Wellness). We will begin with a thorough, collaborative discussion of your health history, pregnancy and labour/birth experience where both Layna and Kensey will ask questions. Depending on the primary concern, a hands-on Osteopathic assessment and/or nursing assessment will be completed for baby, or mom or both (as time allows). Necessary indicated treatment will follow. Take-home exercises, nutrition, lifestyle and regulating activities may be suggested and helpful resources may be provided. A follow-up plan will be discussed.
-
Absolutely! That’s one of the great benefits of our collaborative sessions. :)
-
Each practice provides a hands-on approach to improving your little one’s function and mobility but they differ slightly in their approach. Chiropractic focuses more on the nervous system and body structure whereas Osteopathy focuses on the interrelation of body systems and how they interconnect.
Osteopathy and Chiropractic are complementary to each other and may be part of the same care plan. We just ask you to schedule sessions with a few days between for optimal results and to not overwhelm your little one. :)
-
Collaborative Care sessions may be eligible for reimbursement from your extended health provider through Osteopathy or Nursing coverage. We encourage you to check your individual plan for certainty.
-
This differs from situation to situation. Some cases require only 1-2 sessions while others benefit from more continuous care through collaborative care sessions, 1:1 Osteopathy sessions or 1:1 Nursing Care. This will all be discussed in your session.
